The wellbeing of students is paramount at Holy Name Primary. The following resources support our Pastoral Care and student wellbeing initiatives and programs.

PASTORAL CARE WORKER

Holy Name School employs a Pastoral Care Worker (PCW) 2 days each week. Our PCW works with our Mini Vinnies group to organise activities and events within the school such as the lunchtime disco, Biggest Morning Tea, Pyjama day, Winter Appeal, parent morning or afternoon teas and other charitable works. The Mini Vinnies group meet each week to plan upcoming activities and discuss issues of social justice. Our PCW also sets up alternate activities during lunchtime such as colouring, craft, chess, skipping and throwing games.

KIDSMATTER FRAMEWORK

Holy Name School is a KidsMatter school. The staff have been trained in all four modules including:

  1. Positive school community
  2. Social & emotional learning
  3. Working with parents and carers
  4. Helping children with mental health difficulties

The knowledge and understandings developed as part of the Kidsmatter Framework are evident in the daily life of Holy Name Primary. Staff, parents and students are encouraged to access the KidsMatter website for support and information.

SCHOOL COUNSELLING SERVICE
