Dear Holy Name families,
We’re excited to share our refreshed Holy Name Forster Primary School crest with you.
Over time, schools evolve, communities grow, and identities strengthen. As Holy Name continues to build on its proud history, we wanted a crest that better reflects who we are today while honouring the traditions and values that have always been at the heart of our school.
While the design has been refreshed, our mission remains unchanged. The new crest continues to celebrate our Catholic faith and Josephite heritage while incorporating elements that recognise our connection to the Forster community.
Every feature has been intentionally chosen:
- The Cross sits at the heart of the crest, incorporating the Josephite symbol to reflect the enduring legacy of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop. It reminds us that Christ is central to all we do, shaping a community grounded in faith, hope and service to others.
- The waves reflect the rivers, lakes and coastline that define Forster and the community we proudly serve. They symbolise our journey together, continually growing, learning and moving forward while remaining deeply connected to the place we call home.
- The Carpobrotus (Pig Face) flower A resilient native species that thrives in the challenging conditions of the Forster coastline, it symbolises the strength, resilience and growth we seek to nurture in every student. Its familiar colour also honours the legacy of Holy Name, acknowledging the generations of students, families and staff who have shaped our school community.
- Our school value, Concern for Others, sits proudly above the crest as a reminder of the compassion, kindness and service we strive to demonstrate every day.
This refreshed crest is more than a new design, it is a symbol of our shared story, celebrating where we have come from while reflecting the bright future of Holy Name Forster Primary School.
Thank you for continuing to be part of our school community.
